Taylor Trogdon received his B.S. in Atmospheric Science from the University of Missouri (2009) and his M.S. in Atmospheric Science from Creighton University (2016) with a focus on literacy of weather information. Taylor is an operational meteorologist with over 15 years of experience delivering critical weather forecasts and decision support during high-impact events. His career spans leadership roles at the National Weather Service and National Hurricane Center, where he specialized in severe weather, winter storms, tropical cyclones, and storm surge forecasting. Taylor has guided real-time collaboration with emergency managers and federal agencies, ensuring timely, actionable information during high-impact weather. In addition to his operational experience, he has advanced forecasting technologies and workflows, modernizing tools that support local, national, and global hazard management and currently serves as the Deputy Associate Director of CIRA stationed at NOAA’s Global Systems Laboratory. Taylor’s expertise lies in bridging science and operations to enhance situational awareness and protect communities from weather-driven threats.
