
About Me:
Stephanie Ortland (nee Bradshaw) received a B.A. degree in Physics and Geography/Earth Science from Carthage College, Kenosha, WI in 2017, a M.S. in Atmospheric and Oceanic Sciences from the University of Wisconsin-Madison in 2021, and a Ph.D. in Atmospheric and Oceanic Sciences from the University of Wisconsin-Madison in 2024. Her research interests include convective initiation, thunderstorm lifecycles, remote sensing, nowcasting with artificial intelligence, cloud microphysics, and thunderstorm electrification. Stephanie joined CIRA as a postdoctoral research fellow on the Optical Variability Evaluation of Regional Cloud Asymmetries in Space and Time (OVERCAST) project in 2024.
