Dr. Hausman brings over 30 years of civil and military leadership experience providing staff and line weather and climate support to agencies across the federal sector. Led operational and research organizations with up to 300 personnel and budget authority of $100M+, and managed four medium to large data centers. Transitioned numerous state-of-the-art software and hardware technologies into operations within the Air Force and NOAA. Provided combat weather support for Air Force and Army aviation in Bosnia-Herzegovina and Iraq. Research interests include tropical cyclone dynamics, numerical weather and climate modeling, and data stewardship.
Dr. Hausman previously served with the NOAA Climatic Data Center as the Chief of the Support Services Division, and prior to that was the Acting Director for NOAA ESRL GSD. Prior to joining NOAA, Lt. Col. Hausman was the Commander, 14th Weather Squadron, United States Air Force.
