Dr. Gura received her B.A. from Middlebury College and her Ph.D. from the University of Wyoming.

She is interested in understanding ecological relationships, including wildlife-snow interactions, and the effects of changing environmental conditions on organisms. She designs and executes field campaigns to improve understanding of wildlife-environment relationships, and she conducts model development of ecologically-relevant environmental variables to guide research, resource management, and conservation. She is based in northwestern Wyoming and conducts research throughout the arctic, sub-arctic, and Mountain West.
