Getting to CIRA at CSU Foothills Campus in Fort Collins
CIRA is located at Colorado State University's Foothills Campus in Fort Collins, Colorado. Just 70 miles north of Denver, CIRA is surrounded by atmospheric research and training organizations all along the Colorado front range.

- When exiting DIA, you will be on Peña Boulevard.
- Take Exit 6B for Northbound E-470 toward Fort Collins.
Note: E-470 is a tollway. (As of August, 2007, the trip from Peña Boulevard to I-25 North cost $4.00.) Toll plazas accept cash only. Please see http://www.e-470.com/ for the latest information, or see the note below for an alternative route ("Avoiding the E-470 toll"). - Take I-25 Northbound (Exit 47) towards Fort Collins. Continue on I-25 for about 42 miles.
Avoiding the E-470 toll
Taking E-470 is the fastest and most direct route to CIRA from DIA. However, if you wish to avoid the toll on E-470, take the following route:
- Continue on Peña Boulevard and exit on Tower Road Northbound.
- Continue on Tower Road to 104th Avenue and turn left (West, towards the mountains).
- Take 104th Avenue to I-25 Northbound towards Fort Collins.
In Fort Collins
- Take the 3rd Fort Collins exit (Mulberry/C0-14 W, Exit 269B), turning west (right, towards the mountains) on Mulberry/CO-14.
- Continue for about 7 miles. Mulberry will dead-end at Overland Trail. Turn right (North) on Overland Trail.
- Continue about 1/2 mile to LaPorte Avenue. Turn Left (West) at the stoplight on LaPorte and Overland.

- Continue for about 3/4 mile and turn left into the CIRA/ATMOS complex.
- Bear left up the hill to the parking lot.
