A Journey with the Meteorological Service of Canada
Garry Toth (Meteorological Service of Canada)
Friday, July 16, 2010 9:30 AM
CIRA Director's Conference Room

Garry Toth has been a meteorologist with the Meteorological Service of Canada (MSC) since 1973. He worked in operations for much of that time, but has also undertaken some special assignments, and for the last 4 1/2 years has been a project meteorologist with the MSC's Hydrometeorology and Arctic National Lab (HAL) in Edmonton.

In his talk, Garry will outline his "journey" with the MSC and speak of the Canadian Weather Service, past and present. He will describe the National Labs, and highlight some of the project work currently being carried out by various members of his own Lab. Some of his personal photographs will be sprinkled through the presentation. A few philatelic references will be made as well (Garry and his friend Don Hillger share a passion for weather and satellites on stamps).
