The High Park Fire was the second largest wildfire in Colorado's recorded history and will leave an indelible mark on area residents, the broader community, and the environment. Time and information are needed to understand and process such a high-impact event. What happened over the course of the fire? Why? What happens next?
This all-day symposium will provide attendees with a science-based understanding of the High Park Fire, its impacts on the environment, and actions for restoration and recovery.
Hear lessons and insights from High Park Fire responders and experts in fire science and post-fire ecology. Learn about organizations that are mobilizing restoration activities and how you can get involved to support High Park Fire recovery.
The symposium will also feature an adjoining exhibit hall and academic poster session presenting information, resources, and volunteer opportunities related to the High Park Fire. The exhibit hall will be open throughout the symposium at the CSU Lory Student Center North Ballroom.
Free and open to the public. Presented by: Warner College of Natural Resources
