Collborative Research: Linking Inuit Knowledge and Local-Scale Environmental Modeling to Evaluate the Impacts of Changing Weather on Human Activities at Clyde River, Nunavut
CSU Project #: 5-33610Sponsor: National Science Foundation (NSF)
Primary Investigator: Dr. Glen E. Liston
Start Date: May 1st, 2008
End Date: July 31st, 2013
Objectives:
- Liston will be responsible for modifying MicroMet/SnowModel to run over the Clyde River domain and will acquire the atmospheric forcing and topography and land-cover datasets required for the simulations.
- Liston, Huntington, and Gearheard will work together on defining the model configuration and simulations required to best achieve the project goals.
- Liston will run the high-resolution modeling simulations.
- Liston will work together with Gearheard, Stewart, and Huntington to define the exact locations of the stations, and Liston, Gearheard, and Huntington will work together on the model validation and sensitivity experiment analyses.
- In addition, together they will define additional model developments and simulations required to fulfill the project objectives.
