- In the first year we shall focus on analyzing the impact at the synoptic scale of the new GSI analysis against the NPP/JPSS sounding products. We shall also be comparing the innovation against observational quality control parameters, i.e. gross error check, Chi-square as well as rain/cloud detection.
- In the second year we shall focus on meso-scale features to assess the impact of the new hybrid system compared to the NOAA EDR products form ATMS and CrlS along with sounding information from NPP/JPSS. Again the assessment will consider the quality control parameters as well as the performance statistics.
