Web-based environmental database supporting air resource management in National Park and Forest Service lands
CSU Project #: 5-34197Sponsor: National Park Service (NPS)
Primary Investigator: Dr. Jenny Hand
Start Date: September 1st, 2011
End Date: August 31st, 2013
Objectives:
- The objective of this project is to maintain and refine a web-based integrated environmental database as well as the data delivery and visualization tools to access this database and facilitate the creation of environmental data assessments and reports needed by the National Park Service and Forest Service. To meet this objective there are four tasks that need to be completed. First, the project website and integrated database need to be completed and maintained. Second, data query and exploration tools need to be updated for user needs. Third, existing air quality monitors from a variety of monitoring networks need to be explicitly associated with park resources in order for users to efficiently access data related to specific areas of interest. Lastly, tools to access and deliver the data to users in convenient tabular and graphical forms need to be developed. The fourth task encompasses the majority of effort for this project.
