This research is concerned with the inverse problem estimation of surface fluxes given the observations of CO2 concentration. The research includes several topics: global and regional inverse problems, empirical parameter estimation in biosphere models, and assimilation of new observations from the tall towers in Wisconsin, and from the planned Orbiting Carbon Observatory (OCO) satellite.
This research topic is a component of other research topics
and research projects
- Development of methods for data assimilation with advanced models and advanced data sources
- Mesoscale carbon data assimilation for the NACP
- Multi-year regional synthesis of atmospheric flux and mixing ratio measurements in support of the NACP
