Potential Meteorology Positions

The Cooperative Institute for Research in the Atmosphere (CIRA) at Colorado State University anticipates scientific professional position openings over the next six months in the area of meteorology. Possible position titles are Research Associate I, II, III or IV and Senior Research Associate. CIRA conducts independent as well as collaborative research with various research laboratories of the National Oceanic and Atmospheric Administration (NOAA) and the National Park Service (NPS) in Fort Collins, Boulder, and Lakewood. Position openings may be in any of the three cities. As positions become available, your resume will be reviewed along with the others in our current applicant pool.

Responsibilities:
The work environment for meteorologists includes collaborative research with other CSU researchers in Fort Collins including Atmospheric Scientists, Engineers, Social Scientists, and Physicists. In Boulder and Lakewood, CIRA researchers collaborate with NOAA and NPS. CIRA is looking for meteorological professionals with specific research experience and academic work in the following areas: Remote Sensing (satellite, aircraft, and ground-based systems); Satellite Meteorology; Mesoscale Modeling; Cloud Physics; Aerosols and Atmospheric Chemistry; Radiation; 4DDA and Data Fusion Research; Data Analysis and Quality Control; and Operational Weather Support Systems and Algorithm Development. Applicants must indicate their specific area of research in cover letters.

Qualifications:
CIRA requires that its employees have a college degree. CIRA will be looking for B.S., M.S., and Ph.D.-level candidates with degrees in atmospheric science or related fields, and with strong research experience in the areas of interest.
