Biography

Michael Leon received his Bachelors degree in Computer Engineering and Computer Science from the University Of Miami, Florida, in 1998. He has a little over 10 years of experience in the technical computer field. He has contributed to University research organizations by helping to build infrastructure and provide web development support. He has provided systems administration support for television media companies, and provided systems administration support as well as software development for an internet startup. Using the knowledge gained from the experiences above, combined with on the job training, his work has moved into a Technical Lead role for the GLOBE Program where he helps to support the worldwide educational outreach project GLOBE.

Recent Work

Michael’s recent work includes the last 5 years with GLOBE, where his strengths include a variety of  areas. His knowledge of the database technologies, an understanding of systems architecture, and experience with software development techniques/methodologies, as well as his soft skills (people skills) are used to support the interaction between the global network of students, teachers, partners, and organizations that make up the GLOBE program. His current attention is directed towards revitalizing GLOBE’s suite of online services, providing the community with a more useful set of tools that aim to facilitate education in math in science and promote environmental awareness.
