Biography

Leslie Ewy earned her B.A. from the University of Colorado at Boulder in 1982. Following graduation she worked for the University of Colorado Computing Center and later in the private sector as a software engineer. This included several years working on fault tolerant systems with RAID technology.

Leslie became a CIRA associate in 1997 and currently works for NOAA's Earth System Research Laboratory (ESRL) in the Global Systems Division (GSD). Her areas of expertise include data acquisition and data dissemination. Leslie is is very knowledgeable in aviation data, aircraft data and data from sondes. The output from these formats is used widely throughout GSD in models and displays.

Recent Work

Most recently Leslie has been working on upgrading the decoders and increasing the amount of data available for the researchers. The work she did in Maritime data  significantly increased the amount of data from these sources.
