Patrick Hildreth received his BSc in Physics and Astronomy from the University of Georgia (1990). His interests include software development with Java, Ruby, Ruby on Rails and C. His work with the Data Systems Group at ESRL/GSD/ITS includes setting up and administering an LDM feed of NOAAPORT data to the Central Weather Bureau of Tawain. This effort included development of a custom PAM module to enforce access by IP address on a per-account basis. More recently he developed a web based database of documentation for the GSD Operators. This was based developed using the ruby on rails framework and was recognized by GSD with a 2007 Web Award for Best Product / Internal Use. Current efforts are focused on re-applying this knowledge to develop a web based METAR station metadata database.
