Ken earned his B.S. Atmospheric Science from UC Davis in 1992 and a M.S. in Meteorology from the University of Oklahoma in 1995. Ken worked for the NWS fulltime from 1995 through 2001. In 2001 Ken moved back to California and worked for five years in the ITS department of Cal Poly San Luis Obispo. During that time Ken helped develop and roll out an open source portal framework (uPortal) to the University -- one of the first University portals. Ken left Cal Poly in 2006 and went to work as a senior web application developer at Web Associates in San Luis Obispo, CA. At the end of 2007 Ken joined CIRA to support the Meteorological Development Laboratory within the NWS.
Ken is the technical lead of the NOAA Virtual Lab and develops AWIPS applications for the NWS.
