Sounder Lifted Index -

Where skies are clear, the GOES' sounder can produce a temperature and moisture profile of the atmosphere, from which lifted indexes can be calculated. Values are given in degrees Celsius. Satellite derived lifted indexes should not be directly compared to those derived from radiosonde data, but rather monitored for spatial and temporal tendencies.
