WFAS -- Wildland Fire Analysis System

DESCRIPTION

As described on the Huntana Web site, the Wildland Fire Analysis System (WFAS) is a framework for the next generation fire danger/behavior system.

WFAS provides:

• Fire Danger Maps;
• Fire Weather Observations;
• Next Day Forecasts;
• Dead Fuel Moisture Maps;
• Live Fuel Moisture - Greenness Maps;
• Drought Map;
• Lower Atmospheric Stability Index Maps,and
• Fire Weather Network.

WFAS allows users to assess fire potential, develop strategic plans, provide broad area fire potential information for fire managers and the public, and survey fire weather observations . Further information on WFAS is provided by the USDA Forest Service.
