Smoke Management Task Flow Model
This represents a first cut at a task flow model of the smoke management process, both from the perspective of a land manager and an air quality manager/regulator. In order to navigate the task flow model, run your cursor over the box you are interested in. If the box changes color, single-clicking on the box will bring up the next lowest level. By using this convention and the "Back" icon, you can navigate all levels of the task flow hierarchy.

In constructing the task flow model, the following logic was used. First, the required tasks were identified and put in a logical flow sequence. In the model structure, blue rectangular boxes identify tasks. Then, the question was asked, "what information is required to perform the task?" These information requirements were identified and linked to the appropriate task. In the model structure, information requirements are shown as green rectangles with rounded corners. Finally, for each identified information requirement, the question was asked, "where does this information come from?" These information sources were identified and linked to the appropriate information requirement. In the model structure, information sources are shown as yellow ovals.
