MfFSF -- Meteorology for Fire Severity Forecasting

DESCRIPTION

According to the USDA Forest Service Rocky Mountain Research Station Fire Sciences Laboratory Website MfFSF - Meteorology for Fire Severity Forecasting includes monthly fire weather forecasts that can provide fire managers with a quick and easy planning tool. It is based on the monthly forecast of 700 millibar heights issued by the NWS Climate Analysis Center in Washington, DC.  It provides:

• Afternoon Temperature Forecast
• Afternoon Relative Humidity Forecast
• Chandler Burning Index
• Precipitation Frequency

The Forest Service Riverside Fire Lab provides additional information on MfFSF.
