PRESS RELEASE FIRE IN SOUTH CANYON
At 1 p.m.
today, the Glenwood Springs Fire Department and the Garfield County
Sheriff's Office were notified of a suspected fire southwest of Glenwood
Springs. Once on scene, responders discovered a brush fire that has now
grown to over 50 acres in size.
The fire is located approximately
two miles south of Interstate 70 off South Canyon Road. Residents in that
area have been evacuated. The fire appears to be moving in an easterly
direction.
