Satellite imagery during the periods of heaviest rain in Fort Collins did not offer much in the way of direct guidance. The coldest tops occurred well to the east of the Front Range. Those storms produced very heavy rain, but the individual cores did not travel across the same regions repeatedly, and they did not occur over urbanized areas (for the most part).
About the only way to know something of significance was happening in the Fort Collins area was to look at "time-averaged images" (see above). In so doing, one might notice the PERSISTENT activity in that location. Click here to view a 10.7 um infrared loop for the period 0216 - 0400 UTC.
