Terrain of northern Colorado and vicinity re-mapped into a GOES-9 (satellite) projection.     Low-level wind flow across northern Colorado from an east or southeast direction forces air upward to higher elevations as it approaches Rocky Mountain Front Range cities like Fort Collins.   This is called "upslope flow."
