Weather Summary
Another shortwave feature brought in a developing low pressure system, bringing with it another round of lake effect snow showers throughout the Great Lakes. Satellites showed some patchy cloudiness at mid-levels as well, but whether it was ideal "CLEX" clouds or deeper nimbostratus is not known.
Flight Summary
There was no solo CLEX flight today. A "go"/"no-go" decision had to be made yesterday afternoon due to additional flight constraints associated with trying to fly on a Sunday. All the forecast models indicated marginal conditions for CLEX, so it was decided to not risk it.

GOES-12 Visible (during daylight hours) and Near IR (night) albedo from CIRA.
GOES-12 IR (10.7 µm) brightness temperature from CIRA. The color scale begins at 0 °C with an increment of -10 °C between color changes.
GOES-12 experimental cloud phase from CIRA. Blue represents ice particles, red is liquid droplets above freezing and yellow represents supercooled liquid droplets. Gray areas are clear (no cloud) based on an IR cloud mask.
