Weather Summary
The large low continued to slowly move to the northeast during the day and was centered over the western Great Lakes. This kept southern Ontario under a region of mid-level cloud cover for nearly the entire day. Places to the south and west of Toronto saw some light snow showers, while to the northeast there was nothing but non-precipitating mid-level clouds.

Flight Summary
C3VP and CLEX flew another weather flight today. Lightly precipitating mixed phase clouds were sampled over the CARE site with a non-precipitating mixed phase cloud system sampled for an hour between the CARE site and Ottawa. Several race tracks and vertical spirals were performed through the mixed phase cloud and associated ice virga. Peaks in cloud liquid water were noted to be at or near cloud top (as they have been throughout the C3VP field campaign).
Satellite Images
Images are taken every four hours beginning at 0045 UTC.
GOES-12 Visible (during daylight hours) and Near IR (night) albedo from CIRA.
GOES-12 IR (10.7 µm) brightness temperature from CIRA. The color scale begins at 0 °C with an increment of -10 °C between color changes.
GOES-12 experimental cloud phase from CIRA. Blue represents ice particles, red is liquid droplets above freezing and yellow represents supercooled liquid droplets. Gray areas are clear (no cloud) based on an IR cloud mask.
