Weather Summary
An arctic high moved over southern Ontario during the day, bringing the coldest air of IOP III with it. The high also succeeded at pushing all the mid- and upper level clouds out of the region. The cold air flowing over the still warm waters of the Great Lakes kicked off lake effect snow showers and squalls.

Flight Summary
C3VP debated about flying into the lake effect snows which, under similar circumstances last week, avoided CARE during the aircraft operations. However, the beneficial NNW winds required for the squalls to hit CARE were not forecast to arrive until late in the evening - during the time the pilots needed to be grounded to prepare for tomorrow's CloudSat overpass flight. Thus, aircraft operations were cancelled for today.
