Mission Forecast: The upper level ridge over the Rockies today is expected
to give way to a trof bringing some PAC moisture along. The associated sfc
front is expected to pass LBF Thursday morning and the hopes for this mission
are to sample the clouds near this front. Subsidence behind the front will
quickly clear the area of significant clouds, hence the earlier mission time.
Weather Outlook: On Friday, NW’erly winds will dominate as the upper level
trof continues to progress eastward and a ridge builds back over the Rockies.
The opportunity for some moisture to work its way over the ridge towards LBF
in NW’erly flow is good. The timing of this scenario has potential to mesh with
the 1800Z Terra overpass.
