CLEX-9 October 16th, 2001 Operations

Synopsis

• The CLEX-9 forecast team has decided to stand down all operations for Tuesday, October 16th.
  
  
• Weather Forecast (made at 1500 MDT 10/15/01):

  
            Lack of significant moisture at mid-levels will prevent mid-cloud formation 
            through late Tues and into Wed.  NVA associated with a high amplitude ridge 
            over the Rockies will provide subsidence to ensure lack of clouds.  The 
            ridge continues to propagate eastward through Wed.   Look for ridge axis 
            overhead LBF by 12z Wed.
  
            Later in the week looks more optimistic as a weak ridge forms over the 
            eastern pacific giving LBF a chance for NW’erly flow and a better chance 
            of moisture coming over the ridge.
