Instructions to Presenters
Platform Presentations:
1. We will use a video projector connected to a PC. We prefer
you NOT use your own laptop since connecting and disconnecting to the projector
takes too much time away from the actual presentations. We will also have a 35
mm slide projector available, but please let us know if you require this media.
The meeting room is large (approximately 75' x 80') and we will again project on
a 12' x 12' screen; overhead transparencies will be difficult to see and are
strongly discouraged.
2. We prefer to load your electronic presentation directly on
to the PC. In order to accomplish this, send your presentation to BACIMO2001@cira.colostate.edu
(file name with author and "presentation," i.e.
Wilson_presentation.ppt) no later than Tuesday, July 3rd. If you can not meet
this deadline, bring your presentation on floppy, CD-ROM, or zip disk and turn
it in to us upon arrival.
* Note on OS/presentation software: We will provide Windows
2000 which is NT and Windows 98/95 compatible, as well as the Office 2000 suite
including PowerPoint 2000. If you plan on using any other systems or
presentation software, please contact us by Monday, June 25th (see contact info
at the end of this message) to see if we can accommodate your needs. We have no
Macintosh resources.
** Note on FTP/mail/web access: The conference hotel has poor
internet access. Do not plan on using it to access any real-time or web-based
presentation materials.
Poster Presentations:
1. The standard size for posters is 4' x 3' (or 3' x 4' if you
prefer profile orientation vs. landscape). They will be mounted on the airwall
of the meeting room and/or placed on easels and should remain available for
viewing throughout the conference. We will provide velcro to affix to the back
of your poster for mounting and can provide backing material if you are unable
to bring your poster on a 4 x 3 sheet of paper (please let us know in advance if
you need this backing).
2. For those few requests to present electronic posters, we
ask you to bring your own laptops unless you make prior arrangements.
Poster Commercials:
1. We have allowed for 1-2 minute poster
"commercials" within the conference schedule. Overhead
transparencies are permitted, but you must bring your own hard copy as time will
not permit us to receive and organize files for electronic video
projection.
Proceedings CD-ROM:
All papers will be transferred to CD and distributed to
attendees shortly after the conference. We request that you submit your paper
with evidence of clearance for public release prior to the conference, if
possible. Send your paper to BACIMO2001@cira.colostate.edu in PDF or HTML
format, following the layout of your abstract. Please also indicate platform or
poster in the upper right-hand corner. In order for your paper to be included on
the proceedings CD-ROM that will be produced by the Army Research Laboratory, we
need some type of clearance document from your sponsor, organization or superior
stating that the information in your paper is not classified and has been
approved for public release. Mail this documentation to Loretta Wilson, CIRA,
Colorado State University, Fort Collins CO 80523-1375.
